Drought Resistant Plants and Resources in Water Challenged Environments

Professor John Cushman is the Director of the Graduate Program in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at UNR and has been described as one of the world's leading researchers into the specialized photosynthesis of some desert plants.  John continues to lead the research into what can be possible with plants like the cactus pear, understanding how these incredible plants can be used for the greatest good.  UNR has many excellent teachers who roll up their sleeves and develop the work - John is one of  those.
