International Project Chair Ken Petring could hardly wait to tell us the story of building a home in Mexico for a homeless family.  Members from our Club along with the Down Town Club chartered a bus in Chula Vista and drove to a location in Tijuana and built a complete house in one day.
President Leslie and Chesa looking forward to the day.

All getting ready to leave or maybe arriving.
Member Larie Trippet stopped to help on his way to a long motor cycle ride through Mexico and the Copper Canyon.

We had several guests Tuesday. One being Ann McKenzie with E.P. Minerals.  Ann is very familiar with Rotary as a past RYE student to Belgium and a Past Rotary President as a father from Quincy. We all could tell she enjoyed herself.
Tom Keller, V.P. from Heritage Bank told us he us looking for a Club.  Tom was a guest of Past President Chip Lindloff
Richard Mead was present making his last visit as a guest.  We will be inducting Richard next Tuesday.
President Elect Melissa Lindell made a request for used hard copy books, Past President Chip gave us a report on Dennis McCormac, he has been home in Reno and will be making his last Kimo treatment next week. Let Dennis know we are always thinking of him.  Ralph Koss let us know the Marvin Piccolo School project was very successful along with the help from the Knights of Columbus.  Robin Taber was taking sign ups for the Food Bank.  Very busy weekend for our Club on Saturday. District Assembly and our Ski Day are also happening.
President Leslie asked our members to sign up for lunch on Friday at the District Conference. We will be dark that week to attend the luncheon as our meeting.  I made a three race NASCAR trip and met some fellow Rotarians.  In Laughlin, NV along the River walk the Rotary Club built a Wishing Well and were doing very well collecting donations from the Well.
Our procational talk was given by Shelly Dunbar.  Shelly was born in Truckee, CA, moved to Las Vegas and graduated from UNLV. Her husband was a police officer for Metro. Shelly was working for a construction company while the recession hit and was laid off.  In her down time her and her husband started a Management company then wanted to return to our area moved to Reno.  She was in commercial banking for Nevada State Bank and now will be starting a new venture.  Visit with Shelly to get all of the information.

Here is a good way to get publicity for our Purple Pinkie Run.  Ralph Koss and Scott Horejsi volunteered for a run put on by Eclipse.  They stuffed bags, etc in return Eclipse allowed them to put  our Purple Pinkie flyers in each bag.

Looks like Scott had some good eats.  Run Chair Courtney displayed the plaques that will be given at the Conference luncheon for the registered Rotary Clubs that have the most registered in their team and the Club that raises the most money for their team. This great event will be so special.  We even have a beer truck, warm up instructor, music and more.  If you haven't signed up, now is the time.  Bring your whole family and friends.

Well Madam President Elect Melissa Lindell looks pretty happy getting her ticket drawn or is it the fact she is leaving for a two month European vacation.  Her free dinner will have to wait.
