We had a close to full house Tuesday. Treasurer Leslie Adams was doing the happy dance as we met our guaranteed meal expense to the Tamarack. Everyone enjoyed meeting guest Mike Moore, owner of Rust Bullet. Mike was a guest of Past President Cindy Welch. It is always nice to see a new face interested in what our Club is all about. Rafael Cappucci gave us a short report on an interview he had with Kathy Ireland to be broadcast at a later date.
We had a surprise procational talk from Past President Jim Annis. His new business, Your Family Rocking Chair, has him making heirloom rocking chairs. The one displayed is his demo which has around fifty hours of labor involved. It was enjoyable hearing his story which brought him to building these hand crafted chairs.
President Duane Upton had the pleasure of presenting our Scholarship winner her second set of checks for her continued education at UNR. Isabella is a criminal justice major carrying sixteen credits along with working forty hours a week. In case you didn't know Bella also received a grant from our District.
The rest of our meeting was dedicated to our own RCS Foundation. What a great presentation headed by Foundation President Ralph Koss. Everyone came away with a much better understanding how our Foundation flows, where the finances are and what they are used for. We heard from new board members Joe Musser and Rafael Cappucci as well as Treasurer Larie Trippet. Larie gave us information on the financial process, account balances and the Charter Daddy Fund, AKA Charter Daddy Legal Defense Fund.
Among other donations Past President Jim Annis pledges $1000.00 per year. This fund is not part of the Foundation and the designated money distribution is decided by Jim. It seems when the Clubs funds are spoken for and someone needs help guess who steps up.
Well you can't see what is going on behind the desk but Chesa is putting the white marble in the used cup. She made a gallant try, no Christmas yet maybe next. time. Remember next Tuesday is our Christmas party at Miguels near Summit Sierra Shopping Center. I bet we get some good gifts and if not steal someone else 's. See you then.
