On Saturday, November 23, members of RCS volunteered at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada (FBNN) depends on dedicated and caring community members to join their fight against hunger. The Rotary Club of Reno Centennial Sunset volunteers quarterly to help review, sort, and package food to be delivered throughout Northern Nevada. The Food Bank provides assistance to more than 91,000 people, more than half of which are children and seniors.
Saturday, November 23 was a chilly, brisk morning, but as our members began working alongside volunteers from several other local organizations, the fellowship and good work warmed us. After two hours, we had sorted and packed over 2 tons, ready to be sent to their partner agencies. Last year, FBNN distributed over 18 million meals to area families. If you have food that you would like to donate, please click here to find locations.
Thanks to all who have volunteered over the last year.
