September is Child Awareness month for Cancer. Our speakers were Jim and Tammy Richardson giving a presentation on Camp Cartwheel.  This is a camp where terminally ill children and their siblings attend to enjoy before the final days and find peace.  All of the children have a common closeness.  The presentation touched all of us along with the knowledge a camp like this existed.

We had a new DJ for Music Madness. DJ Jim Annis played fifteen songs for free raffle tickets. Some songs were easy and some no one had a clue.  Of course a remark was made they may have all been before our time. Can you believe it I even guessed one. I was so excited I put both haves of my ticket in the bucket, that is a sure way to win. This music trivia has become very popular at our meetings.
Past President Chip Lindloff gave a short report on Polio. So far this year only thirty new cases of Polio have been reported in the world. Last year the number was near one hundred and fifty.  Slowly but surely the planet is almost Polio free.
Our Fun Chair, Lynn Johnson announced our UNR tailgate party and game will be Oct. 3rd against UNLV, our arch rival. The tailgate cost will be $30.00 and the game ticket $25.00. We will be able to attend both or either. Lynn will be sending out a sign up e-mail.
Our Fund Raising Chair Mark Schauss will be holding a meeting at 5:00 before our regular meeting next Tues.  We have a date set for the St. Patricks Day Dinner of March 12, 2016 to be held at Bishop Manogue School. All are welcome to the meeting.
Our new members Mark and Jo brought a tray of their home made candy plus a wrapped box that was raffled off by President Duane.  The highest bidder was Chip Lindloff.
Do to a date conflict with the Tamarack we have moved our meeting for Sept. 15th to the office of Applied Companies. An evite confirmation will be coming out soon. We will have the same format with a Pizza Party added.
This must be beginners luck. The winning raffle ticket drawn was our newest members Holly Cerasoli. She drew a white marble but a free dinner is never a bad thing.
We have a full schedule next meeting so get ready to enjoy,
Carol
