For me, it was my annual father/son ride.
Russ, Tim, Jim and I (members of the High Beemers motorcycle club) rode south to Lee Vining. Jason rode from Southern California to Lee Vining, and we all arrived within 15 minutes of each other. Then we rode across Hwy 120 to Tonopah for the night. On Friday, Russ and Tim headed back to Reno. Jim, Jason and I went on to Cedar City. I collected 3 stops on the club contest. Dinner was provided by MOA (as part of entry fee). Saturday, Jim found a friend to ride some dirt roads. so Jason and I did a 350 mile loop along some awesome roads. Saturday night included dinner, presentations, and raffle prizes. I won a compact air pump. Sunday, Jason headed back to Southern California. He had minimal traffic and made it home in good time. Jim and I headed on to Ely. We picked up one more contest spot in Lund. We got there too early, so I canceled the room reservation and we headed to Austin, but when I called ahead, every room was sold out. We finally found rooms in Eureka. On Monday we made it back to Reno. Good times!!!
