November 7th brought out our members to volunteer for the Northern Nevada Food Bank.  We packed over two hundred thirty five boxes for the elderly and shut ins.  Everyone commented on the quality of the food items being placed in the boxes.
A surprise shot of Miss Kate, cute.

Some of the boys had big grins.  It always is a great feeling to know we helped someone somewhere.

Did I say snow? Much of our member area were without power for several hours but that didn't stop some of them. We had a great evening with our speaker Vic Slaughter, Rotary District Foundation Chair.  I think we all have a better understanding where the Foundation uses the funds donated by the Clubs.  There are so many areas and grants that if applied for, comes right back to the Clubs to be spread  to our communities.
Joe Musser was present a pin and statue for becoming a Bequest Society member along with his wife Peggy.  In case you aren't familiar with this term in Rotary, Joe and Peggy have named Rotary as a beneficiary in their wills.
Vic rang the bell as a recognition for the Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. A fitting time as today is Veterans Day.

Upcoming events beside Rotary Means Business is Bell Ringing and Wreaths Across America on December 12th.  Ralph Koss sent around a sign up sheet so if you weren't at the meeting and want to ring the bell for the Salvation Army contact him.
Now how are you suppose to keep a straight face sitting next to this guy? If there were fines Tuesday for laughing I would have had one.  On a more serious note Jim rang the bell for the found feelings and dreams he was having about his father.  There is no doubt the Holiday Seasons bring back thoughts of loved ones past.

Remember we are dark on November 24th for the Thanksgiving holiday.  See you all at Rotary Means Business and if all can't be there then December 1st.
