WEEK SEPT. 13TH AND 20TH
Posted by Carol Hannigan on Sep 24, 2016
While President Leslie Adams was hiking Half Dome, President Elect Melissa Lindell presided over our September 13th
meeting.
Our speaker that night was Richard Jay on the topic of Save Our Schools. Richard covered many facts on the need to
vote yes for WC1. Our schools are over crowded, in need of repair, and new ones build to handle the current and upcoming
growth in our county. Please read the facts on your ballot before voting.
Shelly Dunbar in Commercial Lending at Nevada State Bank has submitted her membership application to the
membership committee. The committee is scheduling her orientation meeting and you will all hear about Shelly
very soon.
Past President Duane Upton was the lucky one to have his raffle ticket drawn. Well I guess not that lucky as
he drew a white one.
Our meeting on the 20th brought us a presentation from Buzz Harris and Brad Bottoset of the Liberty Group.
The topic was How To Value Your Business. Even though I don't have a business anymore I wish I had known
them then. If you would like to know more contact Melissa and she will put you in contact with them.
Our Fun Chair Lynn Johnson reminded us of the UNR Tailgate party and game. Be sure to let her know if you
are attending. December 6th is the date for our Christmas Party. Location and more will be coming soon.
We had guests. Chesa brought us Rhoda and Kyle. They are interested in Rotary and will be back soon so we can
all get to know each other better.
Percational time. New member Scott Horejsi gave us a view into his life. Interesting the main reason Scott joined
Rotary was he felt he had been selfish in his life and this would be a way to give back. If you did not hear his
presentation please sit with him and ask about his life.
The white marble was drawn by President Elect, Melissa Lindell. The pictures did not do Melissa justice and
therefore not a part of this bulletin.
I will be on vacation again until October 10th so news will resume then.
A couple of Motor Cycle Rotarians and their honey's having breakfast. Darn, we just needed one more for
a makeup.
